French is spoken in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Monaco, Canada and in former French colonies. It is an official language in 29 countries. Currently, around 75 million people are first-language speakers of French and over twice that number speak it as a second language. French continues to be the second language of international relations and is an official language of numerous institutions, such as the European Union, the United Nations, NATO, etc.
At Ampersand, we work with professional translators who are native speakers of French, hold a degree in translation and interpreting (or similar qualifications, depending on their country of origin), have been trained by Ampersand, have extensive experience, and translate from various languages into French.
Our French translators translate into the variant of French needed, because translating a text for France is not the same as translating for Quebec. Both the language and the content need to be adapted.
Likewise, we collaborate with professional translators who are native speakers of the translation’s target language, hold a degree in translation and interpreting (or similar qualifications, depending on their country of origin), have been trained by Ampersand, have extensive experience, and translate from French into their native language.
